Mission:
The Garden of Dreams Foundation is a nonprofit charity that
works closely with all areas of Madison Square Garden, including MSG
Entertainment, the Knicks, Rangers, Liberty and MSG Network to “make dreams
come true for kids in crisis”.
New York Rangers: The NY Rangers have a long history of community involvement
that is focused on children and families in the tri-state area.Most importantly, the Rangers embrace their
community commitment through the Garden of Dreams Foundation, a 501C3
non-profit charity that works with all areas of Madison Square Garden to
"make dreams come true for kids in crisis." The Rangers conduct
on-going events, programs, fund-raising efforts, involving athletes, coaching
staff, management and employees in fulfilling their significant commitment to
this community.
The Garden of Dreams Foundation in partnership with the
Rangers and all areas of MSG supports programs and events serving 14 tri-state
area non profit organizations and community based organizations serving
children facing a wide variety of difficult circumstances, whether devastating
illness, homelessness, abuse, hunger, extreme poverty or tragedy, including
local children's hospitals, wish organizations, homeless and foster care
organizations.The Foundation
underwrites events, player visits, special "behind the scenes"
experiences, gifts, food, children's coat, toy, pajama drives, parties,
refurbishments.
Garden of Dreams Partners:

children's hospitals, "wish" organizations and community-based
organizations to build on-going, unforgettable programs for children in the
tri-state area who are suffering from devastating illness, homelessness, abuse,
hunger, extreme poverty and tragedy:
The Kravis Children’s Hospital at Mt. Sinai
The Kravis Children’s Hospital at Mount Sinai is one of the
country’s oldest and largest voluntary teaching hospitals.The nursing care is of the highest caliber
and there are support services to meet the special needs of children.The generous support of friends has enabled
the Department of Pediatrics to provide top quality care and address the
psychosocial concerns of the children, which accompany hospitalization and
medical attention.
Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital
Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital sets a new standard for
children’s hospitals.It is the
fulfillment of a vision for a family-centered facility that combines the
highest-level care possible in the most supportive and therapeutic
environment.Dedicated to the philosophy
that families are the most important partners in the healing process, Maria
Fareri Children’s Hospital has been developed as a benchmark for children’s
hospitals around the world for decades to come.
NYU Hospitals Center
The mission of the NYU Health System is the relief of human
suffering caused by disease and disability through education, research and
patient care. The Health System is committed to the highest standards in all
areas of health care delivery, training and information.The Hassenfeld Children’s Center is a
comprehensive outpatient program for children (birth to young adulthood) with
cancers and disorders.The staff is
devoted to promoting health, treating disease and helping children through
their illnesses by providing the comprehensive and individualized care each
child requires.
Hackensack University Medical Center

nation.The Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s
Hospital at Hackensack University Medical Center is one of a select group
designated as a full institutional member of the National Association of
Children’s Hospitals and Related Institutes.This designation honors the contributions of a dedicated team of
doctors, nurses, healthcare professionals and volunteers who have made the
medical center a special place for children and their families, and reflects
the commitment to care that the medical center has always provided.
Make-A-Wish Foundation
The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants the wishes of children
with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with
hope, strength, and joy.The Make-A-Wish
Foundation is the largest wish-granting charity in the world, with 71 chapters
across the United States and its territories and 28 international affiliates on
five continents.Wish expenses are fully
covered by Make-A-Wish, which often includes travel and lodging.The objective is to provide the child and
family with memories of joy that are not clouded with the worries of expenses.
Starlight Starbright Children’s Foundation
Starlight Starbright Children’s Foundation is a nonprofit
organization dedicated to making a world of difference for seriously ill
children and their families.Starlight
touches the lives of sick children and their families throughout their journey
of serious illness, from the time of diagnosis.Starlight Starbright seeks to soften the hard edges of what a family
experiences when a child has serious illness, by creating a sense of community
between families who are having similar experiences and by providing
opportunities to do something fun with others and just feel “normal” again.
Ronald McDonald House
By creating, finding and supporting programs that directly
improve the health and well-being of children, Ronald McDonald House Charities
(RMHC) is working to better the lives of children and their families around the
world.Ronald McDonald House Charities
(RMHC) has grown into a global network of care and concern.Driven by a passion to reach out to children
in need, the core programs of RMHC have grown beyond the cornerstone Ronald
McDonald House to include the Ronald McDonald Family Room and Ronald McDonald
Care Mobile.Each of these programs is
transforming the lives of children in neighborhoods around the world.
Loisaida, Inc.
The mission of Loidaida, Inc. is to facilitate access to
education, training and employment opportunities that ensure the overall
improvement and economic development of the community.Loisaida, Inc. concentrates its efforts
through comprehensive youth and family support programs – to eliminate barriers
to learning and to secure significant social and economic development
opportunities.Loisaida is primarily
made up of community members and the program serves community residents,
enabling it to identify needs and find effective solutions that are culturally
sensitive.
Children’s Village
The mission of The Children’s Village is to provide safety and
care to society’s most vulnerable children.Today, Children’s Village serves more than 700 children in residential
programs, and provides programs and services in the community to approximately
3,000 children and 1,7000 family members each year.All of their programs are designed to give
children the stability and nurturing they need to believe in themselves and to
gain the skills and attitudes necessary to become productive, caring adults.
City Harvest
City Harvest exists to end hunger in communities throughout
New York City, through food rescue and distribution, education, and other
practical, innovative solutions.City
Harvest has prioritized the issue of children’s hunger and has run several
programs including “Feed the Kids” drives.
Children’s Aid Society
For 150 Years, the Children’s Aid Society has had a single
mission: to do whatever New York City’s neediest children need.Its goal is to ensure the physical and
emotional well being of children and families, and to provide every child with
the support and opportunities needed to become a happy, healthy and successful
adult.They provide services for every
aspect of a child’s life, from infancy through adolescence, and include
education, health, counseling, adoption and foster care, career readiness, arts
and recreation, and emergency assistance.
Harlem Dowling
As a not-for-profit child welfare agency, the mission of the
Harlem Dowling-West Side Center for Children and Family Services is to serve
and assist children and their families in crises and distress.Among the services that Harlem Dowling
provides are: foster care, adoption, preventative services, and related
assistance to children and their families to enable theme to live in a stable
and nurturing environment.The programs
focus on serving children and their families in the communities in which the
agency operates.
Life Center
The focus of this residence is to prepare participants for
the world of work and for permanent housing, in addition to enhancing their
ability to live and grow independently.There are 210 children from 6 months to 18 years old who are members of
the 93 homeless families living at the Life Center.
SCO Family of Services
St. Christopher Ottlie has been caring for children and
young adults in crises for over a century.The SCO Family of Services works to overcome the devastating impacts of
poverty, neglect, abuse, and developmental and mental challenges, and help
children strive for bright, more independent futures.A nonprofit agency, SCO Family of Services
strengthens the foundation of families in need throughout the New York metropolitan
area.Offering a continuum of care, SCO
Family of Services meets the unique needs of each individual though a broad
array of innovative community based programs.
Grantmaking Objectives:
Because this is the first year of the Foundation’s new
commitment, we want to concentrate on our current group of community partners
so that we can have the greatest impact possible. In the future, we welcome the opportunity to
expand the universe of organizations that can benefit from Garden of Dreams.
