Brewers Charities (Milwaukee Brewers)

Mission:

The Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Club unveiled Brewers Charities, Inc. in 2000 as a new charitable arm to the organization. The mission of Brewers Charities is to support activities and programs targeted at youth recreation, scholarship and education throughout Milwaukee and Wisconsin. Brewers Charities also holds a number of fundraising events to support these programs including the 5K Sausage Run/Walk, scoreboard recognition program and rummage sales through support from players, coaches and private foundations.

Grantmaking Objectives:

Brewers Charities accepts proposals for grants from non-profit organizations in Wisconsin that specialize in activities for children, particularly in recreational activities that help promote interest in baseball and for specific educational programs that are directed toward children. Grant recipients must provide an update of grant related activities to Brewers Charities, six months after receiving funding.

WHO QUALIFIES: 501 (c) 3 tax-exempt non-profit organizations in good standing with the Internal Revenue Service that:

  • Conduct programs that benefit young people in Wisconsin
  • Have a record of outstanding service in effectively and efficiently delivering programs and services that further the mission of Brewers Charities
  • Ensure that 100% of the grant funding is used for programs

BREWERS CHARITIES GENERALLY DOES NOT FUND:

  • organizations in existence less than two years
  • sponsorships, annual membership or affiliation campaigns, dinners or special events, conferences, symposiums, workshops or group trips
  • debt retirement or operating deficits
  • endowments or other reserve funds
  • grants to individuals
  • individual healthcare procedures
  • organizations that further political doctrine
  • general operating costs
